TRAINING SUCCESS FOR R&R ICE CREAM EMPLOYEES
Lucy Morrison, a marketing assistant at R&R Ice Cream's Leeming Bar site, has won an award for her performance in the Post Graduate Certificate in Food Industry Management organised by food and grocery analysts IGD.
The year-long course consists of six modules covering the food and grocery industry, applied consumer research, marketing, human resources management and business accounting & costing.
Lucy achieved the joint highest grade in the business accounting and costing module. She was given her award, together with a cheque for £500, by Charles Wilson, chief executive of Booker and president of the IGD.
In addition, two other R&R employees at the firm's Leeming Bar site have also achieved training success. HR administration assistant Julie Clarkson has passed her Foundation Degree in Payroll Management whilst Charlotte Lumb - a financial accounting assistant - has achieved a CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting.
Peter Pickthall, training & HR director at R&R Ice Cream, now Europe's largest own label ice cream manufacturer, said: "This is a very tough course and Lucy did exceptionally well to finish first in one of the modules. I also congratulate Julie and Charlotte on their success. All three are to be applauded for their commitment to career development."
